The Search Is On!

We keep looking for the answer. How do we bring western Christianity in line with God’s Biblical paradigm? Each new book, program or model promises a ready fix, but most become fads that quickly fade. In the meantime we’re rapidly losing the battle for our culture.

One particular problem is our corruption of the Great Commission, which calls us to make disciples of Jesus Christ. It’s not about simply getting people to make a decision for Christ, come forward to the altar, or even become converts to our particular denomination.

Nor is the answer a set of heavy handed, legalistic rules that burden people and paint God as a harsh drill sergeant just waiting to smack sinners upside the head. In addition to driving people away from God, rule-making provides a false sense of security for those who think they succeed at dotting all of their i's and crossing all of their t's.

Making disciples is all about growing hungry people toward spiritual maturity through Biblical instruction in a safe, relational environment. Whether it be a local church, campus fellowship or some type of mission organization, helping people grow into Christ-centered disciples should be the goal.

How efficient are we when it comes to making disciples of Christ? What percentage of our time, energy and money do we put into the process? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize just how difficult this task is in our day and age. We fully realize that pastors and church leaders are overwhelmed with the responsibilities, needs and problems that come along with life and ministry. That’s why Search for Me Ministries is dedicated to helping Christian organizations grow spiritually mature disciples of Christ.

The Search for Me—A Journey Toward a Rock Solid Identity is a fantastic small group DVD resource for people of all backgrounds from mature high school and older. Our next publishing endeavors will be a couple of books titled The TouchPoint--Connecting With God Through the Bible and Say Good-bye to Regret--Seeking the Heart and Mind of God.  Both are now in development and are proving to be highly effective in touching all who are seeking to learn God’s ways!

Be encouraged if the beat of your heart is to make authentic disciples of Jesus Christ! No matter how things look, our God always has a plan. We consider ourselves priviledged to play a role in what He is doing (and going to do) in our world!
