Canaanite Express

The Canaanite Express Steams On!

In case you’ve been vacationing on Mars and haven’t heard, Cecil the beloved lion is dead, lured from a Zimbabwe game preserve and shot by an arrow from the bow of Minnesota dentist Walter Palmer.

The Internet has exploded with outrage. Movie stars have voiced their condemnation. Protesters have gathered outside of Palmer’s office. And a representative from PETA has expressed the desire to see Palmer hanged.

According to the Huffington Post, one person blasted Palmer with, “Nothing in this world would give me greater pleasure than to see your head mounted on a wall, your carcass defiled, degraded and paraded as you did to Cecil and near countless other animals.”

Meanwhile, news of Planned Parenthood’s sale of unborn baby parts has been met with a yawn by the media world. One report claimed that news broadcasts devoted more time to Cecil’s death in one day than to the Planned Parenthood debacle over the span of two weeks.

Apparently, lion lives matter and human lives don’t.

As I gaze out over our cultural landscape, I see a train barreling full steam across the countryside. I call it the “Canaanite Express.”

In biblical times, the land “vomited out” the Canaanite peoples because they had defiled it with all sorts of immoral and wicked behavior (Leviticus 18:24-28). They were a culture characterized by sexual promiscuity, idol worship, and even child sacrifice.

In watching the repulsive Planned Parenthood videos, I can’t help but think that we are becoming the Canaanites of days gone by. Perhaps, even worse than the fact that these things are happening is the sad reality that we see little if anything wrong with them.

What was once the content of B-grade horror movies is now matter-of-fact reality.

We don’t need to argue about whether or not God will judge our culture. The Canaanite Express is driving itself into Hell.

It’s time for those with any measure of sensibility to disembark.

May God have mercy on us all!

A cursory search of the internet will show that the Planned Parenthood videos were fake. I think you may have been had on this one.

Jason, I would need more evidence than a cursory search of internet headlines before debunking the videos, but I’d love to see the government do a thorough (and impartial) investigation of the matter. If the videos prove to be fraudulent, I’ll gladly admit my error and take my lumps. If the content is credible, however, criminal charges should be filed against the perpetrators, Planned Parentood’s actual activities should be publicly revealed, and their funding should be drastically cut.

Well, you’d need to actually read the articles. They posted the unedited video and it’s clear that they’re not making money from baby parts. If anything, they’re trying to defray costs for their donation program and most likely taking a loss from it. Also, it’s a video produced from a group known for making fake videos to try to take down pro-abortion groups. As always, we must consider the source. I’m not really sure what to make of your connection between the lives of lions and humans.

Jason, what part of the videos are fake? In video 4, is the person picking through baby parts and saying, “It’s a boy!” not really from Planned Parenthood? Also, why did the director of Planned Parenthood apologize for Dr. Deborah Nucatola’s attitude in the video if indeed the video was fake?

Regardless of whether or not they are selling baby parts, both the attitudes and actions of PP show a complete disrespect for the value of human life.

It would be nice to see a federal investigation. I’m pretty that their sites would vary from state to state.

From what I saw of the videos, it’s also clear that PP officials understand the law and have hired lawyers to help word things so that their semantics don’t raise any red flags.
